Winner of the Chopped Scholarship Competition, which earned him a $40,000 scholarship to The Art Institute of Tampa, a campus of Miami International University of
Art & Design.
Devin is a recent honors graduate of Seffner Christian Academy. While he has a definite talent in math and engineering, his passion always stems back to cooking. Devin has been excelling in the kitchen since age four, and when he's not whipping up his latest culinary creation, he can be found playing trombone in his school band and church orchestra.
Devin enjoys cooking what he likes to call “elevated comfort food," which spans steak, roasted potato salad with rosemary
and parmesan, and grilled asparagus. With the $40,000 tuition scholarship he earned while competing in New York City for the Chopped Scholarship Competition, Devin will begin culinary classes at The Art Institute of Tampa, a campus of Miami International University of Art & Design, this July. He hopes to continue to refine his cooking skills to one day reach his personal goals in the industry, which include becoming an executive chef at his own restaurant, and eventually hosting a televised cooking program.
